The Study Of V-O Verb

There are many people investigate the compound word in chinese, but most of them mainly research the auxiliary and juxtaposed compound word, less people pay attention to the"v-o verb". However, the"v-o verb"not only have complex functions and rich meanings, but also have the unique characteristics in the pragmatics. This thesis aims to work for the delicacy and depth.Usually there are two morpheme in one compound word, if the first one control or involve the meaning of the latter one, namely the latter be controlled or supports the first one, we call this compound word the"v-o verb". The first morpheme in a compound word must be verb, adjective , noun, or have the same function of them. However, whatever kinds of word they are, they must have the function to control or involve the meaning of the latter one.With the combination of syntax and semantics, this thesis investigates the v-o verb in the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary. There are four chapters in this thesis. The first chapter introduces the existing status quo, writing skills, resources and expected contributions by writing this thesis. Chapter two first defines the v-o verb, then classifies it into several groups. While at the same time, it differs the v-o verb in the morphology from the semantics. Chapter three mainly discusses the grammatical function of v-o verb, and classifies it from this aspect. It also analyzes the development of the v-o verb. Last chapter summarizes the whole thesis. It not only states the possible problem by writing this thesis, but also points out some prospects in this field.
