Research On Verb-object Idioms

Idioms as the paralle with phrases, proverbs, idioms proverbs and other idiomatic phrases is an important unit of modern Chinese language. For a long time, many experts and scholars study more in-depth on the definition, nature, structure and other aspects of idioms, but it is rare to see that they only study the structure of a certain type of idioms, especially research on Verb-object idioms. This paper uses statistics visualization methods and deductive-inductive methods to research on the grammatical features, rhetorics and form of variability.The characteristics of the verb-object idioms are relatively singularity of the predicate structural form, diversity of the object structure, relatively integrity of the syntactic component. Semantic properties of the verb-object type idioms are dualism of semantic, variability of the semantic generation, derogatory of emotional coloring. The verb-object idioms main constitutes metaphor, hyperbole, metonymy, genteelism and other rhetorical devices.Vivid impression is the basic means of idioms to play the role of rhetoric and to reveal the negative aspects of social life is the main function of the verb-object idioms.Verb-object type idioms mainly contains embedded words, overlapping verb, suffix "er" to the noun, change order of synonymous a, change order of word and other variations.The expression function of variation verb-object idioms mainly contains sounding effects as the pad , making the syllables symmetrically and cordial, making the expression of semantic clearer and more iconicity , making the expression more concise, making the sentence structure more harmonious, and making the sentiment more consistent.
