Research On The Jin Jiang Academy's Successive Headmasters

The Jin jiang academy is one of the Sichuan famous academies in the Manchu dynasty. It played very important role for Sichuan education, talent culture and academic development from 1704 to 1902. As the province class academy, it's the ground that the Sichuan excellent talented person gather together. The successive headmasters not only included the educator YiJian,Peng duan-shu, Li Xing, Jiang Xigu, but also have the poet and scholar Zheng fang-cheng, Chu zhang-wen, Wu zhao-lin and the officialdom GaoChen, Yang fang-can, Niu shu-mei. They had cultured a batch of academic graduate students when they were the headmasters. Such as poet, scholar, the dramatist, Li tiao-yuan, the famous political reformer Liu guang-di, and the sole Sichuan No.1 scholar in the Manchu dynasty Luo cheng-xiang. However, now few people know the history of Jinjiang academy, and its headmasters and graduate students who produced very important influence in Sichuan even the whole national academy in Qing dynasty. Therefore, this article will do a further specialized research on Jin jiang academy's successive headmasters, including the time they worked in, the contribution they worked for, and the private career.The research result of this article include: First, making sure the time when came and left every headmaster worked in Jin jiang academy; Second, re-describing the experience of each president, especially the career in the Jin jiang academy; The third, study and analyzed how the headmasters contributed the Jin jiang academy. As a result, these researches will provide necessary historical data and beneficial help for people's further research on Jin jiang academy including Sichuan cultural education, talent culture and academic development and prosperity in Manchu dynasty.
