Entered a new period of history, traditional Chinese gongbi figure painting has creative a new era. How to creative new style and how to follow the times are the questions that every Chinese figure painter should face to. Due to the lack that the related arts show the modern ladies, I decide to try to use the traditional Chinese gongbi painting to paint them.Firstly, I have done a deep research on the similar themes of the related arts, including the comments on the themes, the skills of these related arts, the differences between the traditional and the modern gongbi figure painting. By those researches, I come to think what can be taken from the tradition, and what focuses on the theme.Secondly, by studying the development of the traditional Chinese gongbi painting and the works of the theme painting modern ladies, I tempt to find what they have prepared for my exploring the field.epare for the research on the theme, I collect a lot of magazines and newspapers associated with the fashionable women to choose the representative images about the theme. To achieve the best performance, I divide the process of my painting practice into three stages. Stage 1,1 try to paint Chinese gongbi figure painting: "Ya-ya" and want to find the point of entry into the field of modern ladies painting, a series: "Shang-Die "(Fashion-Butterfly), which are my post-graduation works. Thanks to the theme of the work, "Ya-ya" is so tradition and common, it is not so easy to create some new ideas. But I have a new idea to express the new aesthetic taste, by using the traditional skills of Chinese gongbi figure painting. So I choose the subject on modern fashion ladies, which is closer to the modern aesthetic concepts, to continue my second stage-- doing "a series: Silver face portrait". Though the series: "Silver face portrait" is beyond the subject of work "Ya-ya", and find the new subject to reflect the contemporary modern ladies, which is I have been exploring. However, the size of "a series: Silver face portrait" is small. Then, on the third stage, in order to make my works have a greater visual impact, I begin to use the successful exploration of the language of the figure painting to explore a new series: "Shang-Die" (Fashion--Butterfly). In the series, I have tried some new skills, such as runran (a special skill of Chinese painting), thus achieving the basic idea to create the works of the modern fashion ladies paintings: simple fine. Though the three stages, I have gradually established my own language and appearance of making the Chinese gongbi figure painting.Finally, with the development of contemporary, I analyses the three stages. By dong so, I can establish a foundation of my painting for my future.
