The Research Of Relationship Hardiness Personality, Social Support And Quality Of Life Among Nurses

Nurse is the important strength for hospital development , and the health related quality of life is in relation their work efficient and care quality closely. But Kobasa (1979) and Maddi(2002) proposed the concept of hardiness as an aspect of personality which buffers the effects of stress on health . more and more research results suggested that hardiness can protects the mental of those who experiencing high stress. Social support is one of quality of life important influence factors . The study investigated the quality of life ,social support and hardiness personality of nurses .the author discussed the relation among quality of life , hardiness personality and social support ,the factors that impacted quality of life, and model among hardiness personality ,social support and quality of life .The conclusions drawn by this research are as follows:First , nurse'total quality of life is lower than average level .Second , Nurse'age, professional ,educational histoy title and income level have significant effect on total quality of life;educational history and professional title of nurse have significant effect on hardiness personality; the nurses'age, professional title and educational history have significant effect on their social support .Third ,correlative analysis indicated that there exist remarkable relevance between hardiness personality and quality of life ,regression analysis results indicated that nurses'hardiness personality play predict roles for quality of life. correlative analysis indicated that there exist remarkable relevance between social support and quality of life of nurses,regression analysis results indicated that nurses'social support play predict roles for quality of life.Fourth, hierarchical regression analysis indicate that nurses'social support can mediate partly the relationship between hardiness personality and quality of life .To sum up, the present study indicates that the mechanism of hardiness personality influencing nurses'quality of life is more complex, and social support takes an important role in the mechanism.
