The other aspect of Yang-Hui's criticism characteristic is "loneliness" related to this kind of "positive ascetic" with strong participation. According to the theory of peasantry literature exploring the direction of new literature at that time, we can find the character of "loneliness" because the theory of peasantry literature does embody the status and perspective of a clear and independent thinker, as we regard as the real factor of "loneliness".Yang-Hui's literary thought is of realism. His doctrine on the relationship between literature and society is a kind of rational realism because it tries to establish the location and the role of literature from the perspective of social structure. This kind of rational realism can also be regarded as a kind of "ascetic realism" as it is consistent with the view that literature should reflect suffering. And his practicing character of realism with strong idealistic inclination makes it inevitable that his criticism characteristic shows the sector of loneliness. Thus his realism is named "ascetic realism" in the form of an ideal in pursuit of value.Generally speaking, the term "ascetic" is a description of the inherent tendency and the basic driving force of Yang-Hui's literary theory and criticism activities, and the term "loneliness" reflects the basic outlook of the spiritual dimension of his theory and criticism.
