A Study Of The Chinese Apologetic Speech Act Of L2 Learners From Korea

The study on the Speech Act of Apology is one important part of The Speech ActTheory, which is the branch of Pragmatics.As a kind of polite speech act, Apology is mainly applied to make up the consequencebrought about by the speaker's offense. Compared the act done by the Chinese L2 learners from Korea with the native Chinese speakers, we get the factors which can influent the Korean students act.It shows that they can choose the apology strategies, according to the social factors such as speakers' social power and social distance, and they can correctly convey the meaning of apology just as Chinese student. However, learners still make obvious mistakes, due to multi-factors such as the Chinese proficiency, the culture background, materials in textbooks and dictionaries, learners' Chinese pragmatic knowledge, etc. Meanwhile, we also notice that they can express the content of apology and its response, and become more native-like with the development of their language proficiency.
