Abstract/Summary:
Japonic manga & animation, sadou, geisha and sumo are regarded as national treasures in Japan. As a phenomenon of popular culture, japonic comics arose in the integration of economy with culture under industrial society, which takes commonalty as the consumption objects to approach common life, meeting the desire of specific culture. Through modern media, japonic cartoon presents the world's both beauty and ugliness, vice and virtue, whose tableau designed with strong theatrical effects shows vivid and clear attitude to audience. Materials gathered from various fields, which make plots unexpected and more interesting, expressing the unique charm of animation and supplying people with the different experience. Originated from national culture but having developed its own peculiar feature, japanese manga and animation tells some profound truths and furthermore, a new life style and value concept have been announced, at the same time, because of non-limitation on age, accepted by social sectors.The paper is analyzed from narrative and culture research angle in detail, where the analysis of narrative is divided into four parts: narrative structure, plot design, the composition of character and the grammar of narration, taking some representative manga and animation as examples, the principle of plot setting and the behavior model of characters discussed. In the part of comics culture research, it explores hiding value concept and ethos on bushido, mononoaware, the strong worship and the transmission of western and eastern culture four aspects. Taking Neon Genesis Evaneglion for instance, this dissertation expatiates the moderns' soul suffering and craving by construing from symbolism, psychoanalysis and philosophy angles distinctively. Eventually found that japonic manga and animation exhibits " sein and possession" existence in deep level.
