Commercial novels of the late Qing dynasty manifest capitalistic Commercial world of that time, which focus on those businessmen and their Commericial activities, involving commercial thoughts, development of commerce and industry, images of businessmen, management of commerce. Most of those Commercial novels were published after revolution of novel in 1902, such as "The biography of Hu Xue Yan" "The voice of market" and "The secret of making fortune" etc.The thesis makes a research of Commercial novels of the late Qing dynasty in four aspects:Firstly, the author tries to study emergence background of Commercial novel of the late Qing dynasty from the development of literature history, mainly including politics, economy, ideology and culture .Secondly, through mutual illustration of culture and history and writers' motive, the author tries to analyze Commercial theme of Commercial novel of the late Qing dynasty.Thirdly, the images of businessman of the late Qing dynasty are explored through analysis specific works.Fourthly, by using the knowledge of history, economics, management, sociology author tries to reveal change in the commerce and industry of the late Qing dynasty.In conclusion, Commercial novels of the late Qing dynasty reflect the conditions of commerce and industry of the late Qing dynasty and its semi-colonial , semi—colonial character through depicting commerce and industry of that time ,which is meaningful for us to study the early modernization of commerce and industry of the late Qing dynasty.
