The Translation Of The Contract Law Of The People's Republic Of China

The Contract Law of the People's Republic of China is becoming more and more important with the development and opening up of China. The translation of legal documents is very important when China is opening its door to the outside world.Compared with the E-C translation of legal documents, the C-E translation of legal documents is quiet unsatisfactory and it doesn't form a system. The author of this thesis will discuss the English version of the Contract Law of the People's Republic of China and the feature of legal English. Also there are some demerits and defects of the English version of the Contract Law of the People's Republic of China and the author will point them out and give some suggested versions.The whole thesis consists of 4 parts.Part 1 will briefly give an introduction of the development and outlook of the translation theories in the west countries and the east countries.Part 2 will give an introduction of the features in legal English transition.Part 3 will introduce the general background and main content of the Contract Law of the People's Republic of China.Part 4 will discuss some demerits and defects of the English version of the Contract Law of the People's Republic of China-the demerits in Morphology, Syntax and Style-while giving some suggested replacement.
