The study on influencing factors and short-time intervention of mental health in senior middle school students in Nanxi County, Sichuan ProvinceObjective: To investigate mental health condition and characteristics of senior middle school students in the county and analyze its influencing factors and reason of mental problem to provide science basis for taking measures to prevent the occurrence of mental problem.To appraise the results of short-term mental health education and study the suitable measures and intervention ways to offer help for implementing mental health intervention and promoting mental health of senior middle school students in county.Methods: 658 students from senior middle schools in Nanxi County , Sichuan Province were investigated by stratified and cluster sampling survey and students' mental health present condition were collected and analyzed with standard questionnaire which were done by themselves. The results of the short-term mental health education were appraised by control study and combing interview-study the intervention measures of promoting mental health of senior middle school students in county were studied.Results: 69.76% research objects had the mental problem of different degree, among them 56.53% research objects had the light degree mental problem and 13.23% research objects had obviouse mental problem.Total score of Mental Health Scale of Middle School Student and checking rate of mental problem were statistically significant if sex,interest,family member relation,study result,stress were not same. Factors including motion unbalance, study pressure, social interaction, bad adaptation, anxiety had high checking rate and high scores. The senior middle school students of different characteristic had different scores on the same factor from ten factors.The multiple logistic regression analysis showed that family member relation,study result,stress were related to mental health and poor family member relation,bad study result,high level of stress had negative influence on students' mental health. After implementing mental health education, the changing scores of the scale and factors including motion unbalance , social interaction, bad adaptation, depression , compulsion between testing group and control group were statistically significant. In total the scores of testing group were decreased while the scores of control group were incresed. From mental health education students increased mental health knowledge, learned to relax and regulate themselves , learned to have aggressive and optimistic attitude, learned to set up good social interaction and started to pay attention to mental health. But currently because various reasons some schools, teachers, parents still paid few attention to student's mental health and the ways of mental health education were not varied.Conclusions: Mental health present condition of senior middle school students in Nanxi County , Sichuan Province was unoptimistic and factors including motion unbalance,study pressure,social interaction, bad adaptation,anxiety had obviouse mental problem.These factors which included sex,grade, family, interest,family member relation,study result,stress, parent's highest educational background had influence on certain aspect of mental health and family member relation,study result,stress had obvioue influence.Mental health education by college intervention in short time could improve students' mental health degree ,widen students' mental health knowledge and promote students' mental health. School should aggressively change education idea to pay more attention to students' mental health and make use of the existing condition well to develop diverse ways of mental health education in students" usual studies and lives .Besides society and family also should take part in to improve senior middle school students' mental health.
