The Great Learning is a classic works of Chinese ancient important Confucianism. ZhuXi and Wang Yangming both give all their attention to it, as a result their thought difference also embody a concentrated reflection at them to The Great Learning of different annotation. This text aims to explain that causing the difference between ZhuXi and Wang Yangming have its internal factor, that is they laying particular emphasis on the Confucianism traditional knowledge and morality at setting up philosophy basic road, through reviewing the development of The Great Learning text history and the comparison of different annotation between Zhu and Wang. Under this premise, they set out from the theories' needs respectively, using own meaning to explain the classic, for the sake of enunciation own thought come from sage' original meaning. Thus, although both are to The Great Learning of annotation, they become entirely different comprehension. Moreover, the stands opposite the knowledge and morality different tendency which the different comprehension embodies, not only affect the academic tendency since Song and Ming dynasties, but also influence an academic development in Qing dynasties—returning directly to the classic text to test the Confucianism truth.
