A Study Of The Relations Between The Conundrum Of Cultural Power And The Destiny Of Mazu's Feminine Devotees In Dongpo Village

The article analyzes the power in Mazu culture which is a dominant culture in Dongpo village, and what influence it will bring to the feminine devotees of Mazu from the feminism anthropology point of view. Then the article describes the country women's real live in public cultural field in the transitional period of China. The article reveals that male is still controlling the cultural power no matter in the official system or in the unofficial system in the area of public cultural living in Dongpo village. Although female gets some power through Mazu beliefs, folk autonomy and different cultural impact. But this kind of cultural power is usually abnormal. These cause all sorts of puzzled which gave rise to the female disappointed for themselves and society. Then they devote themselves to religious so greatly that some people believe that the fates preside over their destiny. The analysis showed the best solution for the puzzle is to return the cultural power to female. We should give prominence to female in the process of the cultural construction of modern village. At the same time we should remove male hegemony on the basis of the adequate developing space of folk. Also female should shake off the shackles of some conventions and religious and strengthen gradually independence in mind and participation consciousness, which contribute to maintain the harmonious relationship between male and female in village.
