| 《Xiu ci xue tong quan》(it is shorted for《tong quan》in the following words)is an important rhetorical composing which is written by Chinese rhetorician Wang yi and published in 1930.《tong quan》' s publishing caused a durative, abroad and important influence. The writer of this paper thinks that it is necessary to investigate this composing. Because the study of this composing can help us know the general situation of the initial stages of Chinese rhetoric. On the basis of existent research production, I analyses the content of《tong quan》and tries my best to find out the distillate of Wang yi's idea in this paper. I sincerely hope that the study of this book cain help us inherit the tradition of Chinese rhetoric.This paper includes three parts:The first part: brief introduction of《tong quan》. This part mainly introduces the writer of《tong quan》,《tong quan》' s publishing situation, the reason of wangyi writing this book, etc.The second part: study of《tong quan》' s content. This part is composed two parts. The first part introduces the basic content of《tong quan》, and the second part introduces rhetorical phenomena and style.The third part: accomplishment and deficiency of《tong quan》. Same as any other books,《tong quan》has it's value and also has some deficiency. This part mainly discusses the accomplishment and deficiency of《tong quan》.The second part is the most important part of this paper.
