"zhuangzi" Rhetorical Theory And Practice

Zhnang zi has the strongest literary characteristic in the philosophers' proses before Qin Dynasty. An important reason is that it pays attention to the rhetoric. But it is exactly the weak link in the research realm about zhuang zi. The following thesis researched the rhetoric of Zhuang zi on both sides of theory and practice and wanted to discover the literature connotation, mechanism of speech, inside self-contradict and the reasons.The rhetoric theory of Zhuang zi mostly involves arguement and artistic. The main contents of the idea of arguement is objecting chisel and carves, attacking arguements, and negating the language's expression function thoroughly, which has deep self-contradiction with language practice obviously. The following thesis analyses the innate character of the self-contradiction, and the concrete aim at the idea of arguements and it's positive meaning. Pointing out at the same time, it is difficult to guide the language practice because of its one-side and extremity of language invalid. While it is exactly the idea of artistic in Zhuang zi guides the practice, which describes Zhuang z/'s awareness pursues of artistic methods and principles, and article style, etc. The following thesis discussed the avoiding-solid speech strategy particularly and point out "Three Speeches" is not an equal relation. The "Zhi Speech" is the total generalize language style in Zhuang zi.The following thesis analyzed the art of rhetoric of Zhuang zi delicately combining the large quantity language material at two aspects of artistic and arguements.Finally it discussed the influence of the rhetoric of Zhuang zi. At the theories aspect it's points of "language is difficult to express meaning" and "hold the meaning while neglect the language" have big influence, at the practice aspect, it caused profound influence to the after authors and article styles for example "Fu", "Pian article", "Legend", etc.
