Present, Chinese mainland idol drama is little optimistic about the prospects of the market, while idol drama prouduced by Japan and South Korea are very popular among chinese audience. Their type, model, as well as different and the narrative style has its unique patterns. The aim of this thesis is about to extract the essence of idol drama of Japan and South Korea, So we could draw experience from their practice. In this thesis, Firstly, taking the idol drama of Japan and South Korea as model to analysis definition, constitute elements and the development pattern of idol drama. Secondly, focusing on three aspects of idol drama of Japan and South Korea: type of narration model, similarities and differences. Thirdly, compareing with both Japenese idol drama and South Korean idol drama to explore why the idol drama from above two countries could success, and use it as a reference system to highlight the Chinese mainland idol drama development status and inherent weaknesses. Finally reach a conclusion: Only by following the model of native of aesthetic content, the Chinese mainland idol drama has been revitalized.
