An Analysis Of Zhao Yuanren's Chorus

Since Li Shutong composed《Spring Excursion》,the first chorus of China, it has been one hundred years of Chinese chorus history.《Oh,March the Eeighteenth!》and《Sea Rhyme》are the only two chorus pieces of Zhao Yuanren and they are also the representative masterpieces of Chinese chorus at the initial stage.With the analysis of the background of Zhao Yuanren, this paper aims at illustrating his conception in music composition and studying the art characteristics of his chorus from the perspectives of theme, images, melody, rhythm, form, harmony and tonality, to expound its art value, the significant history status and the great influence in the art history.
