| After World War II ,Whilst America enters the cold war times and changes intoback -industrial times, elementary education in USA has carried out important reformation .It has discarded Dewey education theory which governed elementary education in USA for more than 30 years and has reinforced the incline to the discipline structure of knowledge , therefore it has produced a significant effect on the development of American elementary education after the war. This paper takes politics and economy, and changes in society as a background according to home and abroad research development, and analyzed the causes, processes , effects and problems in American education reforms of 1950s-1960s.It discusses education reforming to our country.The foreword part introduces mainly the research situation to current education reforming from academic circles and ascertained the research direction ,it explains the research method and theory to be adoptedThe main part has three sections. Section I Part I analyzed the cause of American elementary education reforming of 1950s-1960s and the thought that reform was the necessary from four aspects, such as the cold war aggravates , American scientific and technological revolution being on the rise ,philosophy failure for Dewey pragmatism and the general public's criticism to American education . Section II sets forth the entire process of educating reform and analyzes appraised American educationist thought about education reform from Kenante and Bruner, and analyzes deeply curriculum structure and their characteristics after adjusting . Section III, based on large amount of historical material, sets forth the effect of education reform. It points out the reforming limitation and the problem revealed and discusses the enlightening significance to our country's education reform.The concluding remarks summarises this essay. I expected that this helps the research in current education reform to some extent. |
