As well known, China is a multi-ethnic country since ancient times. Chinese people of all ethnic groups worked together to create a colorful Chinese literature. Due to different region, language, customs, history and inheritance, different minority literature also show the distinctive ethnicity. It should be said that the national characteristics, which is a minority literature conditions for the existence of ethnic literature and which is the characteristics of identity.After the founding of new China, It has been two climax of complication on minority literature. It should be said that they be Pursuit and Aspiration of the Ethnicity directly. But so far the history of minority literature published, regardless of ethnic history of the national literature or the overall history of minority literature, has far failed to reach the maturity of the history of the mainstream literature in the complication style, writing mode and rational value. In particular, as a nation with other nations it is a significant distinction between the cultural connotation of signs that the nationality and minority in the writing on the history of literature have not been fully realized, even leading to the missing of the ethnicity at considerable extent.In this paper, I will use the combination of macro research and case studies of literature to study the missing of ethnicity. There are four parts in this paper. Firstly, this paper reviews the compilation of the history of minority literature since the founding .Secondly, with comparative new era diversified background in the history of mainstream literary style preparation, pointing out the phenomenon of the missing of ethnicity. Thirdly, look into the deep reasons for the missing of ethnicity. At last, excavate and promulgate the value of national character recognition and Construction for the minority ethnic literature and literary history. This article has conducted the research to the missing of the ethnicity in the national minority history of literature compilation. It is a beneficial exploration for the nation national minority history of literature writing and a discipline system construction since the founding, signally producing positive significance to national minority history of literature writing and the discipline system construction.
