A Zimukou Qilianåæ¯å£æ¼†å¥was excavated from Baoshan Tomb No.2 in Jingmen, Hubei province in 1987, with a outing theme based painting which is the most complete one of the Warring States Period that have been discovered so far on its exteine. It belongs to the realistic paintings in the state of Chu during the Warring States Period and its carrier is Qilian漆å¥â€”—a kind of daily utensil. Whether from content, technique, or artistic style, the Baoshan Tomb No.2 Qilian painting包山二å·å¢“漆å¥ç”»its very typical of that period.Through the research of outing theme based painting on Baoshan Tomb No.2 Qilian, this article will further discuss some issues relating to this and will reconsider the method using on Chu Art楚艺术research.The article divides mainly four parts to launch the discussion. The first part is research summarize, including the lacquer research related to the article, the Baoshan Tomb No.2 Qilian painting study for the moment, and explanation for reason of selecting this topic and research methods. The second part is analysis of the Baoshan No.2 bomb Qilian painting.Since the outing theme based painting is on the Qilian,this part initially defines the function of Qilian and the meaning of outing出行;and then unscramble the picture from three aspects. The third part research is related to the Baoshan No.2 bomb Qilian painting. The last part is the reconsidering of the research methods about Chu Art on the basis of above study. The conclusion of this article is definition of the outing theme based painting on Baoshan Tomb No.2 Qilian and its position on carrier as a picture and its status in the art history as a special kind of art style.
