"Gender",as a core concept in the theory of feminism, was first put forward during the second tide of feminism in western society. It is the inevitable result of feminism movement. Essentialists declare that gender is the innate attribute of the individual, a quality or trait describing one's personality, cognitive process, moral judgment, etc. West feminists separate"sex"from"gender". They emphasize that gender is not the individual's inherent trait but the result of the social construction. In different period of the history, different value measurements norm the disciplines of people's practices and they themselves are continually strengthened. Contrarily, the difference of sex is just the premise of the gender. The gender theory is widely used and becomes the chief topic of feminists. In the mid 1990s, the theory of gender was introduced into China and developed in China's practice domain. In the localization process the gender theory had met many problems. For example,"gender"and"sex"are translated in a wrong way and the use of both is confusing the academic exchange, so this field should be standardized scientifically. There are four chapters in my article. In the first chapter of this article is introduce the theory of gender. The second chapter is about the feminine study of Chinese ancient literature. With the discussion of chapter three is about"The mainstream gender criterion and Bound-feet". This literature phenomenon was affected by the social morals and esthetic ideas at that time. Because the"Bound-feet"could emphasis gender and identity of the female generals, they were used to make their elegant demeanor. In last chapter is about the non-mainstream gender criterion female reading and writing in Ming and Qing Dynasty. Though cotemporary Chinese feminine literature is widely noticed, so this chapter take the feminine literature in the Late Ming Dynasty and the Early Qing Dynasty. The recognition of gender as a social construction has impacted on feminist literary studies most profoundly. It is enlightening for broadening the theoretic vision of Chinese feminist criticism, for understanding and reflecting upon the wholesome development of female ancient literary criticism in China. It may show Chinese ancient literary studies a new way.
