Englichin and Chinglish are twins born in the "English Fever" in China.Englichin, just as its name implies, refers to imitating English expressions, or puttingChinese characters into the patterns of English sentence structures. Some Englishlearners and users with Chinese as their mother tongue are affected by the foreignlanguage of English and then unconsciously force the grammatical rules or languagehabits of English into Chinese, and thus generate awkward Chinese expressions inobvious and direct confrontation with Chinese grammatical rules or language habits.Based on the research achievements of the predecessors in this field, this thesis, adopting the methods of exemplification and contrastive analysis, analyzes thematerial forms of Englichin, which are extracted from some academic books andsome translation works, and classifies them into three catalogues: words, collocation(phrases) and sentences. The thesis illustrates the adverse influences of Englichin onthe Chinese language such as polluting Chinese and blocking the spreading of westernculture. Then, the thesis goes on to explore the reasons for the formation of Englichin. Finally three solutions to the problems caused by Englichin are put forward, i.e.strengthening the Chinese foundation, developing contrastive linguistics of Englishand Chinese, and adjusting the English course in primary schools.
