From others'research and by observing and comparing more than 10 thousands language material of native speaker, this paper is to analyze the similarities and differences between adverb"bing"and adverb"you". By describing and explaining, the paper focuses on the characteristics of"bing"and"you"from semantic, syntactic, and pragmatic issues.The thesis mainly comprises four parts.The first part deals with the semantics features and presupposion of adverbs"bing"and"you". Both of them can stress the negative mood, and the sentences must have presupposion. But"bing"is used to stress the negative mood of the presupposion itself; while"you"is used to stress the negative mood of the necessary condition of the presupposion.The second part analyzes the syntactic similarities and differences between them. Their basic structure is"Adverb + negation + Verb/Adjective". But there are lots of differences between what can appear together with"bing"and"you", i.e. the verbs, adjectives, adverbs, auxiliary words and modal particles.The third part analyzes the pragmatic aspects. The textual function of"bing"is wider than"you". And"you"is more subjective than"bing"."Bing"can be stressed while"you"cannot.The last part is conclusion.The value of this research is:First, the research is based on a vast of real material of native speaker. Second, this paper tries to give a comprehensive comparison between"bing"and"you", and the conclusions could be good references for teaching Chinese as a second language.
