The Research On The Modern Chinese Short-term Time Adverbs

The thesis which bases on the conclusion of the classification of time adverbs ,which conclusion is from the article On The Adverbs of Time(2003),focused on four points about the short- term adverbs of time. The four points are——the semantic of the short-term time adverbs, the classification of the short-term time adverbs, the connection order of the short-term time adverbs and the analyzation of the members of the short-term time adverbs.The main semantic of the short-term time adverbs is'the semantic of the interval short distance'. The basic research of the inferior classification of the adverbs is standards. The most perfect one is the functional standard. This thesis assorted short-term time adverbs basis on the differences collocational function. Firstly, depending on the semantic, the short-term time adverbs are classified into two categories——the pre-time short-term time adverbs and the post-time short-term time adverbs. Secondly, depending on the confined function, we classified the post-time short-term time adverbs into three categories: the controllable post-time short-term time adverbs, the un-controllable post-time short-term time adverbs and the disengagement post-time short-term time adverbs. And each category is different from other categories. In addition, the thesis delineated the connection order between the short-term time adverbs and other time adverbs. The thesis basically exhibited those macroscopic and microcosmic features of the short-term time adverbs.
