Education management of Song dynasty keeps to "school is serving for imperial examinations " in macroscopic, but in microcosmic it doesn't come into being "monopolization education", and these make the idea of private school in Song dynasty active,the schools flourishing and the person with ability come forth in great number. The private school and national schools coadjust mutually and interdepend mutually, and benefit by association together. Its prosperous is vitally related with the management measure that government adopt and the education management of itself . The paper tries to analysis the private schools from different angles and carry on the comprehensive evaluation theoretically, expecting to explore the characteristic experience in Chinese ancient times and benefit the current education system reform and the private school's management in our country.The paper is divided into four parts. In the first part, the paper from three aspects discusses the development background of the private school at that time: political economic development of Song dynasty,the change of the early culture and education policy and the renew that" let a hundred schools of thought contend" etc.In the second part, the paper from six aspects shows that the government adopts the measures to control macroscopically with the private schools at that time in education management. Including: promulgating the uniform ethic and attaching importance to the private school's management; through the imperial examinations to affect its seeking aim; promulgating the uniform teaching material to control its teaching content; participating the private school's part management to control its developing way; adopting the enlightened attitude and building the loose academia towards the private school; think much of the well-known scholar master of the private school and making them officer etc.In the third part, the paper analyses deeply the private school's internal management at that time. In the developing process of more than 300 years, it comes into being special features, Including the form,recruit students,the budget source,the curriculum setting,teaching material,teaching method,teaching form and teachers etc. the private schools become the important complement of the national education system in Song Dynasty and accelerate the development and innovations of the China culture.In the last paragraph, based on the plenty of materials of Song Dynasty, the paper summarizes and evaluates the characteristic of the education management of the private school and expect that China may draw from educational experiments for today's educational reform.
