The germination of narrative literature in our nation is very early, which can be conveyed through antiquity mythology and legend, after then, the narrative literature keeps luster in every Chinese literature developed important period and successfully engendered literary genres. After long-term literary accumulation, the representative style of narrative literature, novel, has been well-prepared and burst out. During Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, novels have made remarkable achievements and perfection. Under many outstanding novelists' wholehearted devotion, some excellent novels, such as "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", "Outlaws of the Marsh", "Journey to the West", "A Dream of Red Mansions" have been gestated. Since the four greatest classical masterpieces came out, related artistic studies have non-interval. Face to those plentiful research findings on the four greatest famous books, it seemed to be no any spaces to do research now. However, some details will be found by deliberate, most parts of the research on the four greatest famous novels just limit to analyze the writing works' artistic devices though the character images, plots of stories, ideological contents and authors studies, but little pay attention to the time and space, which are the two important and ubiquitous factors in works. Actually, the artistic handling about the time and space has important significance in works. The time and space not only like the warp and woof of the earth, forms the venation of the artistic creations, but also like a complicated and interlaced meshes, connects all aspects of the works. Whether in the fields of the narrative rhythm, characters' psychology course, plots development, or on the aspects of narration frame and scenery description, we can intensely feel the sense of time and space existing. But, the sense of time and space of the works has been researched as a part of the Narrative Theory and seldom studies regard it as an independent research method. Therefore, this dissertation tries to analyze the writing techniques of the four greatest masterpieces from the special visual angle of the sense of narrative time and space.
