| This paper delves into oyirad Mongolian mythology in Xinjiang by means of the typological studies, and works out its typological index and the laws of its circulation and evolution. In the meanwhile, the studies also include the following items:1 A typological index to the mythologies of other tribes is produced on the comparative basis among the different variants of oyirad Mongolian mythology in Xinjiang through the application of AT typology;2 The circulation of other tribes' mythologies is generalized and summarized based on the field investigation;3 Example studies on oyirad Mongolian mythology in Xinjiang by way of typology form up the basis on which the uniqueness of the basic types is probed into;4 The motif analysis method is applied to explore the laws of the circulation and evolution by conducting comparative studies between oyirad Mongolian mythology in Xinjiang and the mythologies of other countries and nations. |
