The Study On The Rhetoric Lexicalization Of New Words

In the linguistics research, rhetoric phenomenon and words, fixed phrases belong to different areas, rhetoric phenomenon belongs to speech while words and phrases is part of language. But under certain conditions, temporary rhetoric phenomenon can transform into words and fix phrases of a vocabulary. This paper analyzes rhetoric lexicalization which is that temporary rhetoric phenomenon goes through "use fortuitously-use more-solidify-lexicalization" , then transform into a member to vocabulary of a language. Rhetoric lexicalization is a complex phenomenon that is from speech to language.This paper uses the research method of investigating the corpus, analyzing and concluding. Firstly, the paper divides the rhetoric lexicalization into three categories: phonetics rhetoric lexicalization, words rhetoric lexicalization, figures of speech lexicalization. Secondly, analyzing the four stages ( use fortuitously-use more-solidify-lexicalization) of rhetoric lexicalization. Then dissecting the influence on Chinese vocabulary and senses of words that: first, rhetoric lexicalization brings. Through the analyzing, we can conclude that rhetoric lexicalization is one of the important ways of creating new words and the new words created through that way possess vivid, novel form and sense; second, rhetoric lexicalization is a process, it needs a time to be taken into the Modern Chinese Dictionary; third, rhetoric lexicalization enriches the Chinese vocabulary from quantity to quality and makes the sense of old words change, enhancing the expression level of modern Chinese.
