Research On Du Mu's Prose

This thesis is trying to analyze Du Mu's prose profoundly and comprehensively. It places emphasis on the content, art skills, complement of poems and prose, historical comparison.After perspective of late reign of Tang Dynasty, it summaries his prose's main ideas in military, politics, and literature. In the aspect of art skills, Du Mu's prose could move us with its vigorous emotions. He was good at quoting and sculpturing characters.In addition to his flexible means , such as metaphors, tentative plan, his creative work was a peak of literary circles beyond doubt.As everyone knows, Du Mu is a poet. But in the other side, he was also a politician. As a politician, he used his essays to express his thoughts. So, in content, his poems and essays have a lot in common. The essays' deepth of thought and power of logic will demonstrate especially when in contrast to the poems. Both of them contain strong historical consciousness. The consciousness in poems was moved to comprehension about history in a twinkling, which is without clear speculation and logical reasoning. However, in essays, being based on rethinking the reality, the consciousness puts particular emphasis on it and looks closely at it , which reveals strong reasoning power.
