The paper has four parts, and the first part illustrates relations between Long you literature and regional culture. In the same time, I take some points about studying of Longyou area literature. There are many writers and works in Longyou in the past, and Longyou literature took up very important status in the history of Chinese literature.However,in contrast with its great value, the research of Longyou literature are very lacky,especially these writers and works which were produced after Tang Dynasty. We should make well study about their value, which are hidden in them.In the part, the paper illustrates the development about Longyou regional culture and literature. Longyou regional culture is born and developed in Longyou areas with its specific nature and human environment. It contains four features:openness, compatibility, classic martial spirit and seeking for fame and torture, simplicity and honesty, conservation. Besides, Longyou culture is of positive significance to carrying on Chinese traditional culture, breeding the spirit of nation, establishing harmonious society and constricting the new socialistraral. It shows some regional characteristics, which have great influence to Chinese culture.The paper discusses the contents, state and prospect of Longyou literature. Longyou classic writings are important component part of Chinese classic culture and literature. The article gives an account of the contents, amount and results in collating and studying Longyou classic writings, and also demonstrates the problems arising in their collation and research, thus revealing the academic value and position of Longyou classic writings in the history of Chinese literature.Literature spirit means that writers show their concern for human destiny and for the status que and future orientation of human nature and humanity, pursurance for the desired state of human living, defense of the true, good and beautiful. In comparison with Chinese literature,Longyou literature has its owe features. These features make it be an important part of Chinese literature.The poems of the Qing Dynasty embodying spirits are not the basis of Chinese literature. They are chiefly embodied in the wish for clean public morals so as to maintain pureness of human nature, secure independence of human dignity and integrity, defend the true and the good, call for conscience, be concerned for distress and sufferings of the people. The writers worry about the state and people, diligent for the state, simple in home, inexorable and exploitable are hidden in Chinese classic literature. These spirits will play important role in the contraption of advanced culture. This paper attempts to classify the writers whose works have constituted the glorious Longyou literature by their different creation.After discussing Longyou literature and culture, the paper makes study about Mashu, a longyou famous writer. His poems and prose are all well and have great value. His poems have poems for singing and versifying, Poems of farming, illustrated poetry (poems for painting).Poems for singing and versifying (赠答诗)used to be regarded as lack of artistic value, in spite of their large quantity in the poetic history. However, the creational activities in Mashu proved such opinions and literary views somewhat misstated or biased. Compared with poems for paintings by other poets of the Qing Dynasty,Mashu'poems have distinctive features which are characteristic of the poets who could grasp the essence of the paintings, understand the artistic spirit of the Qing Dynasty paintings and be critical of the society. Illustrated poetry is the artistic integration of Chinese poetry and painting. A painting with relevant poems on it, exquisitely liking poetic and visual romance together, can not only help enrich the artistic conception of the painting, but highlight the beauty of the form. It is an important means by which artists express their feelings, demonstrate their ideas of aesthetics and reinforce artistic appeal.Poems of farming which carry ancient ideology and culture are important in agricultural education and management of ancient of China. The few researches on poems of farming are a mixture of agricultural science, historical science and literature. Ancient poems on farming from "The Book of Songs" to the end of the Qing Dynasty developed at three stages:Poems on farming in the Pre-Qin Days about aristocrats'inspection of the farmland, sacricial offerings and news from government sources; Poems on farming in the Han and Tang Dynasties about rural scenery which symbolize the summit of pastoral poetry; Poems on farming in Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties about agricultural technology whose appearance indicates that agriculture in poems changes from the passive position to active positive.The paper probed that Mashu, a poet in Gansu in the early days of the Qing dynasty, made friends with 16 poets in that time. It also showed his great influence at that time and the then situation of literature exchange between them. Some quoted materials reflected the intellectuals' thoughts and feelings and the change of their political attitudes on the occasion of changing from Ming to Qing dynasty, which can be considered as the reference for correctly understanding the influence of Manchus mastering Central Plains on the intellectuals.In the last two parts, the paper discusses Long you literature situation and spirits, which the works show. Longyou literature is not very good after Tang dynasty. Longyou literature spirits have important value. We should give better studying to it in the light of its owe value.
