The Summary And Study On Chinese Erhu Textbooks

The earliest textbook of Erhu in China can be found in ((Traditional Chinese music printed lecture)), edited by Zhou Shaomei for music education at school at the beginning of 20^th century,which is the preface of Erhu textbooks as a sprout. Then Liu, Tianhua, the pioneer musician of Chinese music reforms Erhu by combining Chinese music and Western music, which renders the teaching of Erhu become a specialty in University. Subsequently, textbooks of Erhu teaching developed because of Erhu School's formation. During the last hundred years, the textbooks of Erhu develops gradually through the sprout, establishment, development, stasis, renew and rapidly development stage until it has its own system, which is a great achievement.The paper analyzes the development of textbooks of Erhu teaching from the period of Zhou Shaomei to now.It discusses the evolution of textbooks of Erhu and proposes there are seven developmental stage. It reveals the tendency, features, advantages and disadvantages of textbooks of Erhu teaching through revealing the social backgrounds and characteristics of textbooks in each stage. The paper provides a theoretical frame for the history of textbooks of Erhu. In the meantime, the author has proposed some creative viewpoints, which contribute to the perfection oftextbooks and system of Erhu teaching.
