An Examinalion Of The Phoneme Groups In The Xin Tangshu Shiyin

The works of Xintangshu(新唐书), consisting of 250 books, are written by Ou Yangxiu (欧阳修 and Song Qi(宋祁). There are many versions on the works at present, and the version which is carved in Qing dynasty in Wu Yingding(武英殿) written by DongChong in Song dynasty all supplement 25-book Tangshu Shiyin(唐书释音). In this article, I generalized 11325 items of Fanqie(反切)on the basis of sorting the part of Tangshu Shiyin. Thus, I got 4422 items of valid Fanqie , apart from the repeated portion. There are 580 Upper-words of Fanqie among the 4422 Fanqie. At last, I generalized their Shengmu(声母)system by referring Guangyun(广韵) and Jiyun(集韵). In chapter one, I generalied 4422 items Fanqie and threaded the initial words. In chapter two ,I generalized the Shengmu system of Tangshu Shiyin and pointed out its character. And in chapter three , I discussed some special variation as well. At last, we drew a conclusion that the main character of the Shengmu system in the portion of Tangshu Shiyin is as follows: Firstly , the soft-lip-voice and strong-lip-vioce , the SheTou(舌头)and Sheshang( 舌上) characters , are all independent of each .Secondly , the Jing(精),Zhuang(庄) and Zhang(章)groups of words are coordinate to one another , and the group of Ni(泥) and Niang(娘)characters are mixed. Thirdly ,the words of the Chuan(船) and Shan(禅)are different, and the third-class and forth-class words of Yu(喻)are coordinate as well . Last , the tendence of Zhuo(浊) pronunciation evolving Qing(清)pronunciation is getting more apparent . At the same time, they approach the Songqi(送气) pronunciation furthero...
