Pragmatics is a new branch in the field of linguistics. The research target of this subject focuses on the language in practical application and the relationship between language and language users, so, it has transcended the theoretical frame formed by traditional linguistics. It begins to dynamically research language, which is more valuable in practical application at the same time.The thesis tries to explore translation of fiction from pragmatic approach. Firstly, it introduces briefly the relationship between pragmatics and translation in order to demonstrate the function of pragmatic theories in translation studies, and then through analyzing the current situation of translation of fiction, it illustrates the necessary connection between pragmatics and translation of fiction. In the second and third chapters, the thesis tries to use context theory and the cooperative principle to understand and interpret the source text In the fourth chapter, from the point of reproducing intended force of the source author, the thesis highlights to apply a series of translating skills into final representation of the intended force from the original author so as to make the target readers obtain the same feeling and experience as the source readers.
