Xin Qiji(1140-1207) is one of the most important writers in Southern Song Dynasty, also one of the most marvelous writers in Chinese history, which is not only because Xin's ci outnumbered those of any other ci writers in Song Dynasty, but also because they were full of significance and had high artistic achievements. The research of Xin's ci mainly focused on its artistic achievement, style and genre, and its status in the history of ci, aas well as the poets like Xin Qiji. As for the aesthetic value of Xin's ci, the research mainly focuses on Xin's ci themselves; while they did not pay much attention to the relation between Xin's personality and his styles in writing poems and ci.The aesthetic style has been decided by Xin Qiji's personal experience, and closely connected with his experience, and has been influenced by his Confucius and Tao education. Therefore, his ci about loving his conntry showed his sincere love for the nation. That is the reason why Xin Qiji adored the bold and unconstrained style best. Besides, Xin Qiji also wrote lots of ci about country life, love affairs and leisure time, in which we can see he has a style no one can imitate. On the whole, the major mood for Xin's ci is bold and unconstrained, which represents well the inner characteristics and his typical style. But besides that, Xin's ci do not lack the styles like bland, plain, and pretty. The sadness after Xin returned to the South, the leisurable eighteen years in the Daihu Lake and Piaoquan Spring, his graceful and restrained works are the best examples., are the best examples.This article starts with analyzing Xin's experience and the Confucius and Tao ideas in his works, then begins the study for the aesthetic analysis of his ci.
