Research On The Fire Fighting In Guangzhou In The Period Of The Republic Of China

Guangzhou is a famous city with long history and cultural traditions. Since the modern era, the city modernization of Guangzhou started before the most domestic cities and developed fairly quickly. In the period of the Republic of China, the city modernization of Guangzhou was fully open out. As one of the important modern contents and symbols, the cause of fire fighting had been rapid development.This paper mainly discusses the evolution of Guangzhou's fire fighting in the period of the Republic of China. The first step gives a basic introduction to Guangzhou's conflagrations in the period of the Republic of China. Secondly, a brief analysis has been done to the evolution of Guangzhou's fire fighting system, with the discussion of fire fighting and winter prevention, conflagration legal system and precaution system.And then, the author makes a study on the policeman of fire fighting and the evolution of the civilian fire organizations. Finally, in this paper, the author analyses the relationship between the fire fighting and the city modernization in the period of the Republic of China in Guangzhou,and the author argues that the course of fire fighting in the period of the Republic of China promoted the city modernization of Guangzhou from the aspects of municipal construction, urban management, urban economic development and so on, but its limitation prevented the city modernization of Guangzhou for further development.In short, in this paper, on the basis of our predecessors'study, from the macro perspective, the author attempts to propose a more comprehensive and systematic review to the fire fighting in Guangzhou in the period of the Republic of China, thereby providing some help for well understanding the history of Guangzhou.
