The words written on the seal of Chu is one of the important components of the Chu's words. The research of the words written on the Chu's seal is not only important to the research of the Chu's history, systems,culture,geography, but important to the whole Chu's words research. From 1980s, Chu language study scored notable achievements, but compared to other categories of words in particular written on the bamboo,the research is not enough. In order to keep up with the whole research of the Chu's Word. So Systematically collating the study of the words written on the seal of Chu has become an urgent task at present. This article is divided into two parts : the overview of research and the variorum of insiription.The part of the overview. I looked back the whole history of the research, and broadly divid it into three periods. First period is from the end of the 19th century to the 50s in 20th century, Research driven and germination. In this period, the research is not conscious. In 1959, Mr. Li Xueqin published his article namede the Overview on the Zhan Guo 77 Ming, which was the mark of this research.The second period is from the 1980s to 1990s, the study on the words written on the seal of Chu went into the rapid development period. In the early 1980s, Mr Luo fuyi published Gu Xi Hui Bian and Gu Xi Wen Bian, which provided valuable first-hand information. In addition this,there are two other reasons for its development, namely the full development of the words written on the bamboo and the words during the Warring States, which greatly promoted its development. During this period, the study of the words written on the seal of Chu concentrated on the following three parts: the distinguishment of Chu's seals; and the inspirption of the words written on the seal of the Chu and confiled the reference books .Mr Li Jiahao,Mr Wu Zhenwu,Mr Shi Xiejie etc are the persons who made outstanding achievements. Mr He Linyi's the Warring States Word Dictionary, (China publishing house, in 1998)is the most important reference books during this period.The third period is from the beginning of the new century up to now, the words written on the seal of Chu study in full swing.
