| Situation semantics is a kind of new logic grammar theory that emerged at the beginning of the eighties of the 20th century in America and Europe. The founder is famous logician J.Barwise and J.Perry in U.S.A., his magnum opus is Situation and Attitudes which is published in 1983. The central subject of the Situation semantics is to study the meaning problem, since introducing the concept"situation", it analyze the meaning from the aspect of natural language treating with information. Modal situation semantics is a unified mathematics frame provided for the situation semantics by the logician in the term of the theory situation technology ..Situation semantics has abundant content, many academician in our country introduced the semantics, and at the same time worked over it thoroughly, and by which they obtain certain fruit. But on the study of modal situation semantics, although the systematical study on it has been done in the last century abroad, the work in our country has not been opened out. The author tries to analyze it tentatively.The text is divided into three parts:Part one: preface, covered with the producing process of the situation semantics, as well as makes a simple introduction to the modal situation semantics.Part two: is the introduction to the basic thought of situation semantics which is the theoretical basis of the modal situation semantics, which includes the reason of producing of the situation semantics and the characteristics of situation semantics. But in the basic thought of situation semantics, the relation between the situation and the inforn—support and the character of situation (uniformity and actuality) are the key of this part, and at the same time, the foundation of the next one.
