| On the basis of research results from the older generation and corpus-based data, the paper provides a comprehensive investigation and analysis of momentum phrase and relevant issues. The paper introduces the object of the article -Momentum phrase firstly. Secondly we analyze the collocation situations of momentum phrase and verb to reveal its semantic characteristics. Thirdly, we investigate the grammar distribution of momentum phrase to reveal its functions of sentence structure. Forthly, we probe further into its sentence structure and semantic function of its syntactic repetition. Finally, we discuss the order of momentum and noun from the pragmatic perspective.The article shows: Measure word in Chinese is a relatively close class and attracts much attention for a long time. But researchers have focused on the use of noun measure phrase while the momentum phrase receives little attention. Though of small quantity and relatively simple syntagmatic relation, the momentum phrase functions in the semantic analysis and sentence structure, also there are complex collocation relations between momentun phrase and verb and noun, which deserve our study.We not merely analysize the components of momentum phrase from the inside to reveal the matching rules of numbers and measures. On the other hand, this paper aims to study the syntactic,semantic and pragmatic characteristics of momentum phrase as an integrity,and thus reveals the law of momentum to instruct the language practice. |
