The psaltery is a familiar musical instrument of the religious music in the Middle Ages.Around 16^th, the "bridge" was fixed up in the front-panel of psaltery, which divided one group of string into two parts, and then, made the psaltery can generate more pitches than it was could. In addition, according to their different form, the "bridge" made the psaltery divided into two kinds of different board zither: the psaltery and the dulcimer.After 500 years, along with the continuity and the change of the history, these two kinds of board zither, based on their different culture, China and Europe, formed their own family.This dissertation takes the pitch position study as the view point of these two kinds of board zither, and contrast researches their various kinds of the arrange modes in their develop process, and introduces the simple history of the board zither, and analyzes their derivation modality of the pitch position, and consequently, discover the regulations as follow: the increment of pitch quantity information, the aggrandizement of the random of pitch operating, the enhancement of the expressive force and function of musical instrument. Inquiried the logic meaning of " the tree structure" and " the meshwork structure" about the board zither classification.The methods that the dissertation takes is try to combine the ethnomusicology and the history musicology together. Based on the great quantities of real objects of board zither which exist in the history, the study try to discover its inner regulations through the pitch arrangement condition, and thereby, provide the experience of pitch operating system improvement of the musical instrument.
