Research On Jin Sheng As A Writer And A Thinker

Jin Sheng(1598～1645), who was born in Xiuning, was an important person in Huizhou between Ming and Qing dynasties. Living in unrest, he threw himself in resisting the Qing Dynasty. As a scholar, he'd got a liberal insight and obtained great achievements on academic thoughts and literature creation. Jin Sheng played a quite big impetus role in the communication of western thoughts during the end of Ming Dynasty. Besides the introduction and the conclusion, the paper is divided into 4 chapters, which discuss his biography, academic and contribution on literature.Chapter One talks about Jin Sheng's biography and friendship. We make efforts to return to original state of his life by studying historical data and literature. Jin Sheng had a lot of friends in his life. By studying the situation of his fiend-making, we will be able to have a direct-view to understand intellectuals' activity who lived in the late Ming Dynasty.The key of Chapter Two is on the Jin Sheng's academic thought. Jin Sheng is a distinguishing thinker during the end of Ming Dynasty. First he insisted the traditional Confucian thoughts and criticized the disadvantages of the last followers of Wangxue. Second, he absorbed the Buddhism, Catholicism and western thought and blended them together. In Chinese academic thought history, Jin Sheng formed a connecting link between what went before and came after.Chapter Three mainly talks about Jin Sheng's literature creation. Jin Sheng was famous in eight-part essay writing. He was good at using the literature idea of classical prose in eight-part essay writing in order to promote its quality. Jin Sheng's classical prose was well known by its mighty, oddity and beauty. The content had a strong realistic pertinence.
