Research On An Introduction To Rhetoric

Chen Wangdao is a famous rhetorician in contemporary age, An Introduction toRhetoric by him published in 1932 is an initial work of current rhetoric inChinese. It is the first systematic rhetoric work that established acompletely-new and scientific rhetorical system. Up till the present time,although it is a monumental work with deep influence, we still need to study itcompletely and specificly. On the base of consulting achievements in the fieldof rhetorical research by predecessors, the author discussed its everlastingmerits in the history of contemporary rhetoric and pointed out its weak points,in order to carry forward the good tradition of seniors, and profoundlyunderstand this rhetorical work.The thesis contains five parts altogether.The first part is online of An Introduction to Rhetoric, which is composed of thegeneral situation of the author and publishing, reason of writing and basiccontents.The second part is creation of rhetoric theory, in the part the author analyzed aseries of basic theories of rhetoric put forward in An Introduction to Rhetoric.
