Great changes have been taken place since later Ming Dynasty (16B.C ) . Market oriented economic was emerging, new cities and civilian group were rising, traditional ideology like Neu-confusicism was collapsing and being succeeded by complete new ones with the concentration on Xin xue . All evidences show that capital elements sprouted in the feudal society. Meanwhile, Chinese opera has developed into a period of maturity , which was featured by Chuanqi being another paragon of success after Zaju. Chuanqi shifted view to the civilians and gave a vivid description of civilians' daily life, economic activities and mental outlook. The figures of civilian were clearly imbued with times features, which was different from that of traditional literature and in step with the growing capitalism.The essay categorize the civilian figures in the background of embryonic capitalism period into merchant, craftsman, art performer and the urban poor, exposing their modes of life, concept of values, world of feelings and exploring time features and humanistic implications...
