The Hunan opera from Ming to Qing was gradually moving towards prosperity, and gave rise to the brilliancy of drama in modern Hunan, therefore Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, should not be ignored in the history of Hunan opera and even the history of Chinese opera. But so far, no one has specifically studied the Hunan Hunan Zaju and Chuanqi, as a whole and a system. This paper specifically explores the characteristics of Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty,as a whole and the ecological environment of the Hunan opera, revealing the interaction between Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, and the ecological environment of Hunan opera. And this is the significance of the paper.The paper begins with the characteristics of the temporal and spatial distribution of the Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, and sketches out the development path of it. And then it explores systematically the characteristics of the theme construction, the characteristics of art and its relations with Huxiang Culture, the relations between Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, with Hunan local opera, the relations between Qing Dynastic Hunan Zaju and Chuanqi, with the mainstream of the dramatic world of Qing Dynasty. The paper is divided into eight parts:The Introduction section explains the significance and research status of Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty,defines the related concepts, introduces briefly the research methods.The first chapter is Spatial and Temporal Perspective On the Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty,It is divided into three parts to discuss. First of all, It Overviews the basic situation of the writers and their works of Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, according to the early, middle and late period. Then it analyzes the temporal distributive characteristics and the causes of the Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty. Finally, it analyzes the spatial distributive characteristics and the causes.The second chapter is Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, and the Mainstream of the Dramatic World of Qing Dynasty. It focuses on the relations between them. First it discusses the overall trend of the Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, and then explores how t Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, went with the mainstream of the dramatic world of Qing Dynasty and its own innovation.The third chapter is the Theme Construction of Huxiang Cultural Spirit and the Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty. It Focuses on the influence of the former to the latter. It analyses respectively the theme features of Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, with the Huxiang cultural spirit along early, middle, late period:the subject of Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty,of early period concentrates on the reproduction of dark reality and the construction of the ideal home, middle period mainly shows the pursuit of spiritual home, the late period displays the worry, anger and shouting of the last world’s literati.The fourth chapter is the Cultural Characteristics of Huxiang and Artistic Characteristics of the Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty. First it discusses the the relations between Hunan literature romantic flavor and poetic features of the Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, and then explores the relations between the intrepid(霸蛮)characteristic of Hunan people and the characters portrayed in Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty.The fifth chapter is the Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty Drifted Apart the Hunan Local Opera. It discusses from three aspects. First it examines the characteristics of Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan element scarce in Hunan local opera. Secondly it analyzes the works of Hunan proto-drama\legend not suitable for play. Finally the traditional concepts affects the literati and the Chinese opera troupe. As a result, Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty and Hunan local opera alienated.The last chapter makes a reasonable position of the Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty on the basis of the summary of the previous point of view. It summers up the pros and cons of the Zaju and Chuanqi of Hunan in Qing Dynasty, to provide a reference for the present construction of Hunan local culture.
