Abstract/Summary:
According to own experience and understanding on the nation and the grass-roots society relations, Zhu Yuanzhang summarized the previous history and set up a management system, that is "li-lao" system.Under the big background of the whole Ming Dynasty, this text investigated "li-lao" system's whole process: creation,development,change and failure. Then it analyzed the connection between "li-lao" system and the other power systems in the grass-roots society. We can concluded: first, "li-lao" system's core was to use the kind old man to make the rural sentence,lead the social values,stable the rural society by their prestige and the administration management abilities. It made the state power extend to the grass-roots society.Second, As well as "liang-zhang" system and "li-jia" system, "li-lao" system depended on the local social authority structure, what's more, it depended on exterior compelling force which is the national authority, and manifested Ming Taizu the subjective factor. Therefore, it is doomed its deterioration destiny as its being. While the country sought other local management forms. This is also the general rule which the state power extends to the grass-roots society. In the other word, the country makes every effort to control grass-roots society.Third, the emergence of "li-lao" system made the common people participate the management of the rural society which enriched the grass-roots social power system. In the grass-roots society there were many power systems, such as, officer,country gentry,landlord,clan and li-lao.
