The object of Shanxi regional culture in Jin dynasty, including folklore, literature, religion, local opera and so on, was studied in this paper, and the factors of region and era which influenced the development of these culture were also analyzed.The region of Shanxi including most part of Northern Hedong Road, Southern Hedong Road, and a part of Xijing Road in Jin dynasty. It is Taiyuan Fu and Jin Zhou, Xin Zhou, Pingding Zhou, Fen Zhou, Shi Zhou, Dai Zhou, Yu Zhou, Ninghua Zhou, Lan Zhou, Kelan Zhou, Baode Zhou, and Guan Zhou in Northern Hedong Road, Pingyang Fu, Hezhong Fu, Xi Zhou, Ji Zhou, Jiang Zhou, Jie Zhou, Ze Zhou, Lu Zhou, Liao Zhou, Qin Zhou in the Southern Hedong Road, and Datong Fu, Su Zhou, Wu Zhou, Ying Zhou in the Xijing Road. It was antiquely called that Shanxi was a region allover with mountains, rivers and fastnesses, the geographic feature made a contribution to the formation of unique regional culture. The geography of breck, plateau and basin was both adaptable to agriculture and pasturage. After Shanxi was occupied by Jin dynasty, the agriculture was broken up because of cruel robbery. After Dading era, the agriculture recovered gradually, in the period of the emperor Zhang, Jin dynasty paid more attention to construct irrigation projects, the agriculture was revived. The pasturage which was the second industry of Jin dynasty, was evolved on the basis of the pasturage of Liao dynasty.
