The theory about phenomena and noumena is an important content in the philosophy of Mu Zongsan. According to the research process of Mr. Mu, I analyze this theory. This article is divided into three parts, the first part is the rethinking of Mr. Mu on the philosophy of Kant, the second part is Mr. Mu's theory about phenomena and noumena, and the third part is Mr. Mu's doctrine about ontology. In the three parts, I have expounded the process how Mr. Mu discovers, analyzes, and finally solves problems.First, Mr. Mu rethinks Kant's philosophy. Mr. Mu spends his lifetime on studying the philosophy of Kant, and he also has developed his theory about phenomena and noumena in rethinking the philosophy of Kant. First of all, Mr. Mu analyzes the tradition of Western philosophy. Western philosophy to today, although its content is very complicated, there is a program, and it can be summarized with several systems. According to the general view, the Western philosophy should be divided into three systems, the tradition of Plato, the tradition of rationalism and empiricism, and the tradition of Kant. Mr. Mu also mentions three traditions: one is Plato, one is Leibniz and Russell, and one is Kant. We can exhaust all the Western philosophy with the three traditions, and the Western philosophy can not leave them. Why Mr. Mu underlines the tradition of Leibniz and Russell?
