The object of research project is the border merchant of northern Shaanxi in the Qing Dynasty, and it has discussed northern Shaanxi border merchant history of the development process, trade characteristics, trade routes change by using the basic theories and annalistic methods of history, economics, and geography. Moreover it has analyzed and defined the historic function arid the historical status in margin business.Because northern Shaanxi region was adjacent to allied Yikezhao area of Mongolia in the Qing Dynasty, the trade between Mongolia and Han nationality developed quickly and trade activities were frequent .Therefore ,the border merchant teams became stronger .In the late Qing Dynasty, with the National Commodity economic development, northern Shaanxi region was well-known to people for "North-leather commodity" market, and formed trade characteristics in northern Shaanxi origin markets, transit market and the consumer market. In the long period, they undertook part of the task of commodity and material circulation between nomadic economy and the North Central Plains, The trade activities connected northwest and eastern regional markets as ties. It played a positive role in strengthening national economic and ensured the reunification of our motherland.The innovations of this dissertation exist in comprehensive analysis of border merchant in northern Shaanxi .It has studied the business activities, managing pattern and the characteristics of the border trade of northern Shaanxi in the Qing Dynasty .Moreover, it defined its historical status and function at the first time, hoping to play a valuable role in northern Shaanxi border merchant research.
