A Study: "Condemnning LinBao And Confucian" Movement

The "Condemnning LinBao and Confucian" movement was launched in 1974 and ended in 1976.Though this movement just lasted two years , "it occupied an important position in the history of contemporary Chinese politicis , culture and science".Obviosly ,it is of great value to have a research on it.Therefore the study of the movement during this period becomes the theme of this paper.The paper can mainly be divided into three parts,including seven chapters.The first two chapters discuss the background , occurance and causes of "Condemnning LinBao and Confucian".From the first two chapters,we can get the following ideas.After the September 13sth event, in order to stablize politicial situation and safeguard the theory , Mao Zedong made use of his historical knowledge to launch this movement which can be said as a second "Great Cultural Revolution" , to some degree. The occurance of the movement has not only the political reasons but also some historical origin, it refers to the new culture declaring individual freedom during the May 4^th movemont of 1919 ,under which people flaunted the banner of overthrowing clanmanism to head for nationism , and combined nationism with the traditional Legalist's ideology.The following three chapters expound the performance of workers , peasants , soldiers and intellectuals and views form overseas Chinese during the movemont. At that time , it seemed that workers , peasants ,and soldiers were the main force in the movemont, but factually it was not the case. For one thing , they were resticted by their educational level , for another , they pitted themselves against each other and caused divergence of views about the movemont. Therefore , the movemont could not achieve the original politicial goal. As for intellectuals , they showed totally different views t, and it was not of value to talk about those who held the doctrine of the Golden Mean .Form overseas point of view , the policy of Jiang Government was that "there is not conciliation between a party and it's opposite party". The reports form America , Japan and Europe were rather objective and sharp ,of which Japanese views were especially profound. And it was surprising that the movemont got enthusiastic surport from the thirdworld.The last two chapters talk about the end of the movemont and clarify the lessons form it. The whole "Condemnning LinBao and Confucian" movement was triggered by the September 13sth event and ended with "Tian Anmen Event". It has influence on ideology, politics and science , form which we can get some lessons.
