| The thesis studies the characters, the processes of pronunciation and the changes under the various pronunciation circumstances of [j] and [w] by means of EPG and spectrogram. It includes five parts: preface, second chapter, third chapter, fourth chapter, fifth chapter and references. The preface presents general introduction about the study on semivowel [j] and [w] which researchers did. Second chapter presents data bank of dynamic palate position about [j], [w] and equipments, ways. Palate position and process of pronunciation of [j], linking characters of [j] and vowel, [j] and consonant, distinguish characters of [j] and [i] are analyzed in third chapter. The fourth chapter discusses palate position and process of pronunciation of [w], linking characters of [w] and vowel, [j] and consonant.Third, fourth chapters are the main parts of the thesis. According to experiment results, palate positions of [j] pass through hard palate, former of hard palate to back gum. [j] is more easily influenced by its later vowel or later consonant than by its front one. [j] affects its front vowel and later one. Palate positions of [w] pass through hard palate to former of hard palate and later consonant of [w] more easily affect [w]. [w] makes an effect on front vowel, later one and palate position of it remains stable. |
