The Survey Of Yishengzi In Shuo Wen Jie Zi

The study of Yisheng characters in the book SHUO WEN JIE ZI is a synthetical question which comes down to three aspects of Chinese characters: the shape, the sound and the meaning.This thesis evaluates many scholars' opinions on the Yisheng characters after Xu Shen, and then put forward our own view on this question. Besides, on the ground of this viewpoint, this article analyses one by one the labeled Yisheng characters. This research offers vast data for further study on the Yisheng characters. It also explains the relationship between the Yisheng characters and the cognate characters, and the theory of the right part of Chinese character by a large number of examples.we can come to the following conclusion: firstly, Yisheng characters propagate by the way of adding the part indicting the meaning to differentiate the original and the extensive meaning. Secondly, the Yisheng characters are the theoretic base of the theory of the right part of the Chinese characters, which originated from the former. Thirdly, the Yisheng characters are a type of the cognate characters. Next, the study of the Yisheng characters is of methodological significance for the study of the paronym. Lastly, the Yisheng character as a method, i.e. the method of Yisheng, it also plays a great role in explaining the ancient writings.
